In March 2018, The Bagpipe Refurb Co Ltd began. Specialising in refurbishments, repairs & manufacturing, the company has went from strength to strength. Founded by time served bagpipe maker Derek Marr, he has brought life to pipes that would have otherwise been sent to the great bagpipe fire in the sky.
On April 1st 2023 The Bagpipe Refurb Co Ltd became a VAT registered company.

Derek’s own brand of bagpipes Marr Bagpipes are played some of the finest pipers currently playing. Including custom models of Ross Ainslie, Ali Hutton, Ali Levack and many more. Apart from being a world renowned bagpipe maker and refurbisher, Derek is also a skilled piper. He has been playing since the age of 9, and was pipe major of Lanark & District Pipe Band.
His passion for Bagpipe making began just at the age of 6 when his granny took him to a Bagpipe Manufacturer in Edinburgh. As soon as he left school, Derek worked in producing Bagpipes for companies such as Bannatyne, Wallace Bagpipes & Pettigrew Bagpipes before eventually going solo and producing his own brand of Bagpipes. His knowledge and skills are admired by many and pipers from all over the world visit Scotland to meet Derek personally.
